Bárbara Veloso

Bárbara Veloso started working at INESC TEC in 2018, at its research centre at University of Minho in Braga: High-Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab), and since June 2019 joined the UT Austin Portugal Program team, being responsible for the Science & Technology Impact Assessment area.

Prior to joining INESC TEC, Bárbara worked as a consultant in both Porto at SPI – Portuguese Society for Innovation, managing the SME-focused project QI_pme and EU-funded research and innovation projects, and in London at Frost & Sullivan in its training department. She also has over 10 years’ experience in the English National Health Service as a Business Manager at primary care level, overseeing the operational side of busy inner-London GP surgeries, with a strong Human Resources management component. She was also responsible for constantly hitting top-marks in the Quality Outcomes Framework, the first care quality-based contract implemented worldwide.

Bárbara graduated from Business Management at Minho University (1997-2002) and successfully completed the Management & Leadership Programme from the UK’ ILM Institute.
