I am an Assistant professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Minho, Portugal. My research interests are Global Illumination Physically Based Rendering, Parallel Processing and Quantum Computing. Since my PhD I have been working on exploiting both Parallel Processing and Coherence on hyper-dimensional light transport signals, to speed up computer based generation of images, light fields, holograms, etc. This has led me to vsit areas such as Monte Carlo integration (both classical and Bayesian), Compressive Sensing and Heterogeneous Parallel Processing, among others. Recently I became interested on Quantum Compuiting and how this paradigm can be used to allow processing of very high dimensional light transport, with special focus on Quantum Monte Carlo integration.
