In 2024, the UT Austin Portugal Program took another batch of researchers to UT Austin under its Call for Short-Term Research Internships. This edition offered an immersive experience for faculty, researchers, and students to develop collaborations at one of the world’s leading ecosystems.

Candidates spent two to three months at UT Austin undertaking R&D activities in areas such as Advanced Computing, Nanosciences, Space-Earth Interactions, and Clean Energy.

Financial Assistance

Admitted applicants received a comprehensive support package:

  • Monthly Allowance: €2,500 (PhD holders) / €1,950 (Master’s/Bachelor’s).
  • Travel: €600 one-off allowance (for students).
  • Insurance: Health insurance (up to €500) and Personal Accident Insurance.
  • Housing: Provided and covered by UT Austin for the entire stay.
  • Visa Support: SEVIS fee covered by UT Austin.

Am I eligible for this research internship?
