Bio:
Over the last 15 years I have been using computers to solve complex problems in the field of signal processing and image compression, which have been my main research areas, as well as in the exploration of other research areas. During the last 12 years as an assistant professor, I have carried out research duties that have enabled me to broaden my horizons, from robotics and Intelligent Systems to bioinformatics, with more than 150 publications in these areas and collaboration in more than 20 research projects. As a professor, I have supervised several Ph.D. and MsC students in these areas. Moreover, I have been responsible for several courses in the areas of computer science, signal processing and robotics. Over the last year I have been coordinating the restructuring of the Master’s Program in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, as I have been nominated as director.
