||I am looking for an expert in CFD algorithms and Parallel Computing to advance the current numerical methods and obtain more accuracy and efficiency. The main goal is to evaluate and quantify this improvement when using high-order schemes in a 3D application and performing parallel simulations at the clusters available at Minho (Portugal) and UTAustin. This application can also quantify the advantages of using Large-Eddy Simulations combined with these new schemes by studying the turbulence decay of the performed simulations.
Duarte Albuquerque is an Aerospace Engineer from IST at Lisbon, with a crazy passion about CFD. Because of this, he has taken a Computational Engineering Ph.D. Program from the UT Austin Portugal Program between 2009 and 2013, from the required ten subjects from this Ph.D., his favourite one was Parallel Computing. His favourite research interests are related with advanced CFD methods, mainly adaptive unstructured grids, immersed boundary method and high-order schemes. He has supervised ten Master Thesis and has other seven on going. He is the PI of a recent FCT project that studies these topics, with a total budget of 240k€. He is the corresponding author of eight articles in scientific journals of the CFD field: Journal of Computational Physics, Computers and Fluids, Numerical Heat and Mass Transfer.
