Bio:
Joana Matos Dias is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at University of Coimbra, Portugal. She has a BSc in Computers Engineering (University of Coimbra, 1996), a MSc in Operations Research (University of Lisbon, 2000), a MSc in Quantitative Finance (University of London, 2011) and a PhD in Management Science (University of Coimbra, 2006). Her main research interest is decision making models and algorithms in general, and operations research applied to health problems, combinatorial optimization, multiobjective optimization, in particular. She has been working in radiotherapy planning optimization, and she presently coordinates an interdisciplinary research team that has been able to advance the state-of-the-art in this field of research. This team has been able to develop a fully automated fluence map optimization procedure based on fuzzy inference systems, beam angle optimization approaches for IMRT, VMAT and is now tackling planning optimization for Proton Therapy. She is the Portuguese PI of the project AT@PT – Automatic Treatment Planning for Proton Therapy. Personal homepage: https://www.uc.pt/feuc/joanamatosdias
