Julia Nelson, Senior Administrative Associate, coordinates the UT Austin Portugal administrative tasks with the Office of Associate Dean of Research for the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
Her previous experience includes working in international education and education abroad at The University of Texas at Austin, St. Edward’s University, and the University of North Texas, as well as a specialized grant-funded Arabic language learning programs at UT Austin.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies at Texas A&M University, and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration of The University of Texas at Austin. A keen traveler, she studied abroad in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain while at Texas A&M working on her thesis regarding the expansion of the European Union. Her love of travel and exploring led to her work with students and faculty planning their own education abroad experiences around the world.
