Pedro Camanho joins the editorial board of the International Journal of Solids and Structures

Pedro Camanho was the only researcher in Portugal invited to join the Board of Editors.

Pedro Camanho, one of our Portuguese area directors of Space-Earth Interactions, is the newest member of the Board of Editors of the International Journal of Solids and Structures.

This renowned Elsevier journal for publishing in applied mechanics of solids and structures was established more than 50 years ago, by Professor George Herrmann, from the Stanford University.

Recently, following the remarkable academic work he has developed, the Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP) achieved the Scientific Excellence Award from the University of Porto and was elected Fellow of the oldest aeronautical society in the world, the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Pedro Camanho is also President of the Associated Laboratory of Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (LAETA), Vice-President of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management (INEGI), researcher and member of the Advisory Board of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), of the Council of the European Society for Composite Materials (ESCM), and the Engineering Panel of the European Research Council (ERC).
