Pedro Camanho joins the editorial board of the International Journal of Solids and Structures

Pedro Camanho was the only researcher in Portugal invited to join the Board of Editors.

Pedro Camanho, one of our Portuguese area directors of Space-Earth Interactions, is the newest member of the Board of Editors of the International Journal of Solids and Structures.

This Elsevier’s renowned journal in applied mechanics of solids and structures was established more than 50 years ago, by Professor George Herrmann, from Stanford University.

Pedro Camanho’s remarkable academic and research work has been recognized very recently with the Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP), being given the Scientific Excellence Award from the University of Porto and the very prestigious title of Fellow of the oldest aeronautical society in the world, the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Pedro Camanho is also President of the Associated Laboratory of Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (LAETA), Vice-President of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management (INEGI), researcher and member of the Advisory Board of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), of the Council of the European Society for Composite Materials (ESCM), and the Engineering Panel of the European Research Council (ERC).
