Space-Earth Technologies address critical challenges related to Earth observation, space systems, and the interaction between space and terrestrial environments. This area builds on a mature collaboration between Portuguese institutions and UT Austin.
In Phase 4, it remains a strategic domain for science-based decision-making and global monitoring.
Scope in Phase 4
Phase 4 activities will focus on advancing scientific understanding and technological capabilities related to Earth systems, space infrastructures, and their societal applications.
What this area covers
- Earth observation and remote sensing
- Space systems engineering and data analysis
- Climate monitoring and environmental modeling
- Navigation, geodesy, and geospatial technologies
- Space-Earth interaction phenomena
Activities under this area will be progressively launched throughout Phase 4.
