Pedro Camanho is one of the most cited experts worldwide
Pedro Camanho, one of our Portuguese area directors of Space-Earth Interactions, is on the Stanford University’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists List”, which gathers the most prestigious international researchers from diverse scientific areas whose publications were most often cited by other authors worldwide.
The research conducted by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis and his team, in the article “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” was published in the Public Library of Science Biology and consists of a selection of more than 150,000 renowned scientists. Two lists are available in the article, based on the cumulative impact over the researchers’ careers until the end of 2019 and the impact verified in the year 2019 exclusively.
Recently, Pedro Camanho was the only researcher in Portugal invited to join the editorial board of the International Journal of Solids and Structures.
Pedro Camanho is also President of the Associated Laboratory of Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (LAETA), Vice-President of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management (INEGI), researcher and member of the Advisory Board of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH), of the Council of the European Society for Composite Materials (ESCM), and the Engineering Panel of the European Research Council (ERC).
